the Fruita Sheds Story

I’ve always dreamed of owning a vibrant company that exceeds the norm, in the way it relates to customers and its employees. My vision was to give the customer and employee so much more than they ever signed on for.

I actually pitied the customers buying from me, it’s hard for me to take their money. I pitied hiring employees; I knew there would be so many greater places to work for.

This gap from what I thought I could offer to what we began to offer in our company is a silent driver in my bones. I want everyone who comes in contact with us to experience a level of vibrancy and passion they never felt before. I want people to speak of the experience they had with our company for the sole purpose of rekindling the experience in their mind.

Our story continues to unfold. I want our company to be an opportunity creator. To create opportunities of enjoyment for my family and for the families and individuals who work for us. Opportunities of development. Opportunities of growth and encouragement.

Our company story is not hinged on huge profits. While we need profits to create experiences, we’re not unsuccessful if we don’t have a large profit margin left over at the end of the year. Because we’re living in the NOW all the time, we’re not living for the end of the year. That takes too long to come around. And so, we live every day. We’re present every day. We’re alive every day.

We continue to write our story and invite as many as are inspired by this to come along and make it a greater story.

What we Believe

Treat People Like a Real Somebody
See the value in every person and never take advantage of anyone, even if they’ve wronged you. Always do what you say you’ll do and create meaningful experiences by genuinely caring how people feel—be honest in simple moments, answer with empathy, smile, and take time to listen.
Give More Than What Is Expected
Make right what we made wrong by taking responsibility without excuses or defensiveness—offer a sincere apology and ask how you can make it right; offer to have their site checked if they’re unsure if a trailer can access it, and always aim to set new standards rather than simply doing what everyone else does.
Organize our work and operations
Orchestrate everything so you leave a tidier environment behind you. When you make a commitment, decide how you’ll remind yourself—and follow through. Always clean up after yourself and put tools away when you’re done so the next person can easily find what they need.
Don’t Give in to Ordinary Seek a new perspective
Always be hyper aware of a customer’s first impression when they walk into a building—what they see first must be extraordinary: beautiful, spotless, and pristine; treat every problem as a chance for creativity and growth, set clear daily priorities, and take action.
Bring Your Whole Heart
Bring your whole heart to everything you do: “Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your strength” (Ecc. 9:10). Be dynamic, not robotic; don’t give up when it’s hard. Add genuine laughter, be fully alive and grateful for it, and always do a magnificent job.
Create a magic experience / Create Positively Memorable Moments
What customers experience with us, they won’t find anywhere else. We create positively memorable moments by noticing the little things—like greeting customers by name—and treating every interaction as a chance to make them feel seen, valued, and genuinely cared for.

Fruita Sheds History

We launched Alpine Buildings in January 2021 with a simple vision: create quality, portable buildings with an authentic, warm feel. Early on, we experimented with metal-sided storage sheds, chicken coops and rough-sawn siding.

We took on a variety of projects—porch enclosures, roof replacements, bathroom remodels, and decks—to keep growing our skills and reputation. Along the way, we invested in better workspace solutions and transitioned to LP SmartSide siding, which gave us stronger buildings and more design flexibility with custom colors.

As our business grew, so did our team. Since 2022 we’ve hired several part-time employees. Providing meaningful work and positively impacting people’s lives remains central to our mission.

A new rental location beside the Fruita Co-op and a focused online strategy expanded our reach. When we discovered our original name (Alpine Buildings) was competing with a larger out-of-state company online, we introduced Fruita Shed Company (Fruita Sheds) and immediately felt the increased clarity that brought.

By mid-2024, we were delivering our own buildings with a dedicated shed trailer and expanding into tiny home builds—continuing our commitment to quality, service, and community impact. We're excited about our future of building more tiny homes and creating tiny home communities.

Discover More.

We build spaces that help re-inspire your life. We have discovered that crowded garages, closets, and bedrooms, make our life frustrating, unhappy, and limit our creativity for something more. So, we’ve developed a line of sheds that organizes all that crowdedness right in its own space, so that you can discover more life!

More space for what you want.

More space to breathe.

More space to live.

More life.
